Not everybody knows that New York’s Icon, The Statue of Liberty, was actually a gift from France for the US. It represents the Roman Goddess of Freedom, Libertas. Before the ‘fat lady’ found it’s final destination, it was assembled in Paris first, where together with an Eiffel Tower under construction, it dominated the Parisian skyline.
