Brian Dettmer is an American contemporary artist famous for book sculptures. The process involves acquiring old books and analyzing the pages for available images, drawings, and text. He then conceptualises the theme and them begins to cut away at the unwanted portions of the pages to expose those elements that he has chosen. By doing so he creates a three-dimensional sculpture that conveys a message completely different that the original meaning of the book.
