We’ve all made silly bets. One million giraffes is a result of two good friends, Ola and Jørgen from Norway, who have a long history of foolish bets, wagering yet again over their favorite prize, a case of beer. The challenge was if Ola could collect a million giraffes from people all over the world. Ola came of with the idea when he was backpacking through South America and thought it would be a neat way to keep in touch with his new friends if he asked them to send him a giraffe. After some time, Ola said one night out with his friend Jorgen that if he really wanted to he could get one million hand-drawn giraffes. Jørgen kept doubting him, and the bet was born. 440 days later, Ola wins the bet, showing how truly amazing the internet is. On the website he has over one million giraffes sent in from all over the world. Here is a small selection of them.
