It’s nice to see a low-tech simple solutions to complicated problems! In the world of robotics the ability the pick up and manipulate objects of different sizes and shapes have traditionally been very difficult for robotic hands, and solutions have generally been very expensive. In this video you’ll see a simple low tech solution from the engineers at Cornell University that utilize coffee grinds in a rubber balloon-like ball that allows the robotic arm to pick up nearly anything with ease. Now that’s thinking outside the box!
