Riding a bike downhill sounds easy right? The idea of not having to pedal and just coasting down with the help of gravity sounds appealing. If you thought the same, this video will change your perspective. The Chilean town of Valparaiso, a UNESCO world heritage site, is known as being Chile’s largest port, as well as being a city full of very steep hills. The citizens must have thought, when you have lemons, make lemonade, so let’s use the hills that we hate climbing everyday for something fun. The result is the legendary downhill bike rally known as the Cerro Abajo Race. The race track which cuts right through the city, is full of tight turns, steep stairs, both high and angled jumps, and close standing spectators. In this video, thanks to the guy that agreed to wear a camera on his head, you’ll be able to experience what it’s like to participate in such a race. It’s hard to watch it without moving your body all kinds of weird positions as if to avoid collisions! Apart from all the obstacles, you’ll see that this contestant was faced with one obstacle he wasn’t expecting. Good luck, and we’ll see you at the bottom!
